Data protection

EU hosting. Clearer choices for your audience.

Your smartest.email workspace is hosted in the European Union. We provide tools for consented signups and unsubscribes, while each sending organization decides how to collect and use its audience data.

Hosting location

The workspace is hosted in the EU.

This describes where your workspace is hosted. Delivering a campaign involves sending infrastructure and recipients' mail providers, which may be in other countries. EU hosting alone does not establish GDPR compliance or mean every data flow stays in the EU.

The rules behind responsible email

What the GDPR means for campaigns

An identifiable subscriber's email address is personal data. Organizations using that data need an appropriate legal basis, a clear explanation of how it is used, and a way to honor applicable data rights. Direct marketing email must also follow the electronic marketing rules that apply in the recipient's jurisdiction.

Choose a lawful basis

Your organization decides why it contacts people and which legal ground applies. Where consent is required, it must be a real, informed choice.

Respect subscriber choices

Tell people how their data is used. Honor unsubscribes and direct marketing objections, and respond to requests about their personal data.

Understand data flows

Account for where data goes when messages are sent and received. A hosting location is one part of that picture.

Current product tools include signup forms with an explicit marketing consent choice, contact subscription status, and unsubscribe handling. These tools support your process; your legal basis, notices, and response to rights requests remain your responsibility.
